THE ASSOCIATION’S PROJECT

Founded in 2017, Art & jardins | Hauts-de-France is committed to a unique approach at the heart of public spaces, centered on the theme of the garden, a genuine symbol of community life.

Its work transforms a cultural initiative into a societal, social, collective, and inclusive project that reflects on the challenges of tomorrow.

ONE TERRITORY, FIVE PROJECTS

The Art & jardins | Hauts-de-France project is deeply connected to its environment, in the broadest sense. First, to its exceptional landscapes, which form the palette for the artists we support; then to its history, which it is essential to preserve, as it has shaped the region’s terrain and identity; and finally to its people, with whom we aim to weave stories and pass on memories, especially to younger generations. Remembering today to imagine tomorrow, together.

To implement this project, five key initiatives have been developed. After taking over the Festival international de Jardins | Hortillonnages Amiens, the association expanded its activities across the region, undertaking work on memory and peace by creating the Gardens of Peace circuit in Hauts-de-France, in Belgium, and, since 2021, in the Grand Est.

Art & jardins | Hauts-de-France then continued its landscape-focused journey by highlighting the Somme River with the Gardens of the Somme Valley and producing artworks in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Mining Basin of Nord and Pas-de-Calais, creating participatory and community gardens with residents of the former mining towns. Finally, from autumn 2020, with a desire to pass knowledge on to younger generations, the association established educational vegetable gardens in high schools across all departments of Hauts-de-France, in partnership with the Region and the Rectorates.

BECOME A PATRON !

Supporting artistic creation, preserving the environment, showcasing our region and its historical and cultural heritage, educating future generations about peace, and fostering solidarity are themes at the heart of all our projects. They guide our actions and our commitment to making a difference.
