Dear visitors, From May 23 to October 12, 2025, dive into the heart of the Hortillonnages of Amiens for the 16th edition of the International Garden Festival | Hortillonnages Amiens! A unique artistic journey between land and water, where 49 contemporary creations transform this exceptional natural site into a true open-air museum. This year, the Festival features 13 new works: 5 gardens, 6 art installations, and 2 student projects led by UPJV and Lycée Édouard Branly. Since 2010, the Festival has celebrated young creativity by offering a platform for landscape designers, visual artists, and architects. Their works, designed in harmony with the landscape, address the major environmental challenges of our time: biodiversity, water management, fragile ecosystems, and sustainable development. The gardens and art installations of the International Garden Festival | Hortillonnages Amiens, set on small islands, create a poetic route inviting visitors to discover this unique environment from a new, curious, or even playful perspective. This exploration, on foot or by boat, offers a gentle immersion and encourages reflection on the links between nature, culture, agriculture, and heritage, while tackling issues related to climate change. The International Garden Festival was awarded the European Garden Award 2024 – Best Contemporary European Park and Garden. Over the 15 previous editions, nearly 221 gardens and installations have been produced by 340 landscape designers, artists, and architects, enjoyed by more than 620,000 visitors. The Festival places people at the heart of its project, with an inclusive and engaged vision. Since 2010, it has welcomed Civic Service volunteers, who, supervised by guides, ensure visitor reception. A professional integration program also enables people in precarious situations to work on garden maintenance and support for the artists. Furthermore, the Festival’s vegetable production is redistributed to local social and solidarity economy organizations, strengthening its positive impact on the territory.
