Cela ne vaut pas quarante écus > Atelier Altern, 2019

It is a participatory project, in collaboration with Factory residents and schools, aimed at carrying out a landscape transformation of the plot adjoining the Factory, completed by an action on a part of Square Ghesquière.
Cela ne vaut pas 40 écus
What if our Eldorado, for us men of the 21st Century, was a world in which biological diversity would not be threatened but rather profuse ? A world of plant and animal abundance in which humans would have their place in balanced environments. The proposed installation plays with the ephemeral and the perennial, staginga totem living for more than 270 million years : the Gingko biloba. The project consists of planting a large subject along with a flower procession endemic to its base. Within the setting of Eldorado and throughout its duration, it is the construction of a beacon structure on which tarpaulins and braiding of colored bands are installed, allowing the tree and its garden foot to be seen by transparency. These bands on the lower part will be greetinf papers, like the Haïku, which may be the subject of participation by residents and schoolchildren.

Atelier Altern

Atelier Altern is a landscape and town planning agency, created in 2008 by Aurélien Zoia and Sylvain Morin, both landscapers who graduated from the École de la Nature et du Paysage de Blois, and winners of the 2016 Palmarès des Jeunes Ubranistes, as well as, AJAP 2014, Albums des Jeunes Architectes et Paysagistes, biennial distinctions awarded for one by the Ministère du Logement, and for the other by the Ministère de la Culture. Based in the Paris region (Pantin) and in the North of France (Mons-en-Baroeul), the agency today brings together six people with varied profiles (landscape designers, architects-urban planners, engineers), around whom can come add independent collaborators according to projects. They work mainly in the following areas of project management and studies: public spaces, surroundings of housing and equipment, urban and landscape studies, parks, gardens and natural spaces, installations, land art, teaching, research.
